Why such a funny cover letter? People often ask me just that question. My answer? Job-search should be fun sometimes, not always serious. I developed the funny cover letter you see below, along with another [funny cover letter#1], during a time when I was seeking something fun to write about. I didn't quite set out to write the below, but the more I thought about how I could put a creative spin on a document always "so serious" like a cover letter, well, I found it challenging and a blast.

Who doesn't love a funny cover letter ... I mean really? Regardless of whether you laugh your butt off or simply respond with "huh." It's all in fun!

FUNNY COVER LETTER (SAMPLE #2)

Funny cover letter has been provided as a courtesy. Certainly this is not an actual letter for an actual jobseeker. It is in fact a cover letter that was written to be funny. RE: Clown Opening

Dear Mr. Jones:

Tell a joke, hear a joke, and suddenly where's a joke-joke. As requested, my career details are listed up until the current position.

My clowning-around days started at the age of five. A fellow kindergartner twitched the corner of her nose, and I snorted in response. Several students in the class laughed; and although initially embarrassed, I quickly understood that going forward, I would be a class clown.

Like most individuals, I didn't know how to turn my profession into a career until I discovered The Clown Institute. Graduating in 1995, I then progressed into performing at kid parties and Kansas-area charity events. In fact, you may recognize certain published events such as "Baggy Pants and The Mayor" and "Laughin', But Not Paying The Bills." I received rave reviews for both productions and was noted as being "a real jokester with an off humor, inappropriate for children" by R.R. View of Kansas City Events. This one comment reshaped my client base to include elite bars and private dance clubs.

I changed my entire image, creating a scruffy and unshaven clown that ignores no smoking signs. Contractually linked to some of the most elite bail bondsmen and short-term lenders in the Kansas area, I knew immediately that I'm perfect for your upcoming production of "Clowns Gone Wild."

A videotape is enclosed for viewing. Call me at (228) 221-2589 to schedule a meeting to discuss clips or to outline the types of scenes you're seeking for the upcoming film.

I look forward to speaking with you.

Sincerely,

"Faces" Stockniloponish
